Njivice, close to Omišalj and has always been part of the Omišalj castle, and today the municipality of Krk. Town has probably been inhabited since ancient times. It was first mentioned in written sources in 1474, the grant of Prince Ivana Frankopan.

In past centuries it was a little village, whose inhabitants were mainly fishermen, olive plantations in the forests. Houses on the shore, boats and fishing nets, "crates" full of fish, for centuries been a recognizable photograph of Njivice.

In 1930 hotel Luka (now Adriatic) and villa Dinka, which is considered the beginning of tourism in Njivice.
This tourist and fine food resort is today the most recent parish on the island. Not far from Njivice, is a lake, one of two on the island, used to be a fishing area, but for a number of decades has been a source of drinking water.
